Flowers and Broken Things

Today was tough again. There is so much going on in my personal life that is pretty devastating. I wanted to at least get out today for a short walk and decided to take my Camera with me.

I thought it would be interesting to capture the contrast between things that are traditionally beautiful and things that are not normally “photograph worthy.” I was really drawn to things that were weathered, broken, peeling, decaying or dying. I really like how the photos turned out and enjoyed the huge contrast between the different subjects.

It was so hot outside that I started practically sweating 10 minutes in! My Hubs volunteered to go with me for some company and there’s no way I was going to turn him down. I tend to stop every 5 feet when I have my camera and want to snap a picture of everything so I felt a little bad for him.

It was a little bright for getting that perfect shot (not golden hour lighting) but perfect weather to take a stroll and get in good practice.

I hope I can continue to think differently when I get behind the lens. Some of these shots were super fun to get into post processing and see in actual size.

Can’t wait for more opportunities to shoot!
