Carmelite Monastery

Photography

Spring is fast approaching and I have blossom fever! I am a sucker for spring time. With couples portrait sessions on the horizon and additional family sessions coming up as well I set out today to scout a new location for spring and summer of this year and it did not disappoint! The Carmelite Monastery  sits on the most gorgeous property here in Santa Clara, CA and the main building was built in 1917 if I have my facts correct. A fellow Photographer friend of mine suggested this location and I was jumping at the chance to get over there with my camera the minute I found out it was just 5 minutes down the road from me.

Friends I could not put my camera down! (As if that is a surprise) This beautiful enclosed area is filled with a large olive tree grove, brick pathways, small flower beds, and a small rose garden that I could not get enough of!

It was pretty windy but that didn’t stop me from soaking up all that yummy light and snapping as many shots as I could. I don’t know about you but I am a huge sucker for gorgeous greenery and blooming florals. I am so excited to book a session and get a couple embracing in this quiet and serene olive grove and holding hands down this brick pathway. This is the kind of place where you can capture special moments and I just cannot wait.

  1. Love the bottom photo with the little white bell looking flowers. Do you know what they are? Sounds like you had a great time exploring and photographing 🤗
